We know that making the decision to attend one of our events/opportunities is a big deal. That´s why we aim to streamline the process and make everything as easy to understand as possible so that you have all the information at your disposal. Here´s a breakdown of our most frequently asked questions.
1. WHY ATTEND ONE OF OUR EVENTS?
There are a number of different reasons why you should consider attending one of our events but ultimately it comes down to having the unique opportunity to showcase your talent in front of a large number of professional scouts and coaches from all over Spain. With all of our staff having coached or worked at the professional level, we specialize in creating a competitive and professional environment that is ideal for players to stand out and increase their chances of accessing high-level playing opportunities.
2. WHAT OPPORTUNITIES CAN COME FROM A TRIAL EVENT?
At each showcase event we offer the opportunity to be assessed and reviewed by a number of high-level professional teams and coaches however the opportunities that can present themselves do not stop there. We also also have designed a number of pathways and resources for those looking to take the next step in their footballing careers but are not yet ready to make that significant jump. These opportunities range from international residential academies, scholarships to high-level football education/partners and also access to additional resources such as: sports psychologists, sports performance coaches and professional mentors.
3. WHAT DOES A TYPICAL TRIAL PACKAGE INCLUDE?
Each Trial/Showcase that we host is different to the next however we remain consistent in the professionalism and organisation of each of our events to ensure that we provide the best possible opportunity for our players. We offer a range of services, from comprehensive accommodation packages that provide a fully residential experience to our 'football only' program focused solely on the trial or showcase. Each event incorporates elements such as professional coaching, assessments by professional coaches/teams, intensive football schedules, top-tier facilities, guest speakers, kit pack and more.
4. WHICH PROFESSIONAL TEAMS AND SCOUTS WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE?
Whilst the specific list varies depending on the event, we work with a large network of scouts and coaches from teams all over Spain, ranging from La Liga level clubs all the way through to international academies and semi professional teams. At each of our events all clubs/coaches/scouts in attendance will be fully disclosed and hand picked to provide the maximum level of transparency and exposure for the players.
5. ARE THERE SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS OR AGE LIMITS FOR PARTICIPANTS?
Each of our events differs in terms of the entry/eligibility requirements needed to be invited. In general our events are designed for players between the ages of 14 and 25 years old with age groups separated during the event itself. With that being said their will be certain trial/events in which we are looking for a specific age groups, aligned with the opportunities that can come from that particular event all of which will depending on the event. Whether you´re a grass routes player just looking for his chance, or a player with professional experience looking for his next challenge, one of our events will be a good fit for you.
6. AM I GUARENTEED TO GET A PRO-TRIAL AT THE END OF THE EVENT?
While we cannot guarantee a professional trial/signing at the end of our event, as success in football depends on various factors, we are proud to note that the percentage of our participants who secure playing opportunities is significantly higher than the national average. Our showcase events and trials are designed to provide comprehensive exposure and development, enhancing your chances of advancing in your football career.
7. WHAT SHOULD PLAYERS DO TO PREPARE FOR AN UPCOMING EVENT?
Given the concise and intensive nature of our events, we recommend that players arrive in peak physical and mental condition to showcase the best possible version of their game. To be considered for professional opportunities, attendees must demonstrate a commitment to a professional lifestyle. This includes focusing on the additional 1% factors such as strength and conditioning, proper nutrition and hydration, mobility, and injury prevention. By attending to these aspects, you can perform at the highest possible standards during the event.
8. HOW IS A SHOWCASE EVENT TYPICALLY STRUCTURED?
Each event is uniquely scheduled and planned to suit its specific objectives; however, we consistently incorporate key components designed to evaluate each player's technical, tactical, and physical abilities. These components include intensive training sessions led by our professional coaching staff, technical evaluations, strength and conditioning programs, sports psychology sessions, educational workshops, video analysis, and, of course, a series of matches to assess each player's skills. Scouts and coaches observe and record performances throughout the event, and standout players are contacted directly at its conclusion.
9. IS THERE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET OR INTERACT WITH SCOUTS AND COACHES AFTER THE TRIAL?
Yes, our events include specific moments for players to interact with the scouts and coaches in attendance, allowing them to ask questions, receive advice and establish professional relationships.
10. WHAT HAPPENS IF A PLAYER IS NOT SELECTED OR SIGNED? ARE THERE FOLLOW-UP OPPORTUNITIES?
At SST, we are transparent about the competitive nature of professional football and the the 0.012% of youth footballers that make it to the professional level. However, our commitment to your development doesn't end with the event. We engage in comprehensive discussions with players and their families, reviewing performance throughout the week. Based on these evaluations, we recommend additional programs and events tailored to help you continue developing and enhancing your opportunities in the football world.
