Juan Carlos Añón brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Spanish Soccer Trials, serving as our Head of Football. A former professional footballer and coach with a deep connection to Málaga CF, Juan Carlos has dedicated his life to the beautiful game, excelling both on the field and from the sidelines.

Juan Carlos began his footballing journey as many do making his way through the highly competitive Spanish youth system. His passion, work ethic, and game intelligence would see him eventually be offered the opportunity to join Málaga CF, one of Spain’s most historic football clubs. It was then that Juan Carlos took his first steps into the world of professional football, competing in the Spanish first division and developing a profound understanding of the game, which would later shape his transition into coaching.​

Juan Carlos served as an assistant coach at Málaga C. F., contributing to the team's successes, including winning the UEFA Intertoto Cup and reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. He also took on head coaching roles at Atlético Malagueño and Real Balompédica Linense. In 2014, Añón expanded his coaching career internationally by managing Hebei Zhuoao in China and has always been a highly respected figure in Spanish football circles most notably for his regarded amongst his tactical acumen, leadership qualities, and ability to inspire players.​

As the Head of Football, Juan Carlos oversees all aspects of player development, coaching, and evaluation at Spanish Soccer Trials. His primary focus is to provide young players with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to succeed in professional football. With his extensive network of connections within Spanish football along with his passion for mentoring the next generation of players. He understands what it takes to thrive in the competitive world of professional football and is committed to helping young players maximize their potential.
