Danique Francis is not waiting for an opportunity to come to him.
Still only 16 years old, Danique has come through the youth setup at KSK Blankenberge and earned recognition at National Belofte level, Belgium's national youth football programme. A left winger with electric pace, sharp vision, and a strong right foot. The exact profile of a modern wide player that catches the eye immediately.
But despite competing at a strong standard in Belgium, Danique wanted more. In January, he came to SST's Winter Showcase looking to broaden his horizons, and he made sure people knew who he was.
Standing Out at the Showcase
In a showcase environment built to stress-test players, Danique did what good wide players do, he made things happen. His physical qualities stood out from the first session. For a 2008-born player, his athleticism, directness, and ability to affect games in tight spaces showed a maturity beyond his years.
The combination of his technical profile, his age, and his potential made the decision straightforward from SST's side. This was a player worth investing in.
The Opportunity: CD Puerto Malagueño
Danique now returns to Spain to begin his trial with CD Puerto Malagueño, a club competing in Liga Nacional, the second highest youth category in Spanish football. This is a serious level. Liga Nacional sits just below División de Honor, the elite tier of Spanish youth football, and the standard of play and tactical demands reflect that.
For a 16-year-old European player stepping into the Spanish youth system for the first time, this is exactly the right environment: competitive enough to test him, structured enough to develop him, and with a club open to the kind of talent Danique brings from outside the Spanish pyramid.
It is another example of what the SST pathway is designed to do: find the right opportunity, at the right level, for the right player, and give them the platform to show what they're capable of.
A Bright Prospect with Everything Ahead of Him
Danique Francis arrives in Málaga as a talented, pacy, technically gifted winger with youth international recognition in Belgium and a point to prove on a new stage. At 16, he has time on his side and the qualities to make a real impact.
This is another showcase success story, and another reminder of what becomes possible when talented players are willing to step outside their comfort zone and back themselves.
Interested in following the same path? The Summer Showcase 2026 is our next opportunity for players who are serious about a Spanish pathway. Places are screened individually and allocated by age group. If you want to understand whether this is the right fit, the first step is simply finding out more.
