A Journey That Started at Our First Ever Showcase: Nijae Aberdeen Signs for Málaga Juniors B
Spanish Soccer Trials is proud to announce that Nijae Aberdeen has signed for Málaga Juniors B, part of a club structure competing at the first level of professional football in Spain.
For those who have followed Nijae's journey with SST, this moment has been coming. From our very first showcase, to a trial in January, to a signed contract with an exciting and ambitious club.
Málaga Juniors are a new club but they have already reached the professional level and show no signs of slowing down. It is exactly the kind of forward-thinking environment that suits a player at Nijae's stage of development.
The Player
Nijae Aberdeen is a left-footed full-back who has spent a number of years developing his game in England. As a Bermudan national, he has also represented Bermuda at youth international level, giving him a competitive background that is vital for life in Spanish football. Dynamic and comfortable in possession, his profile as a modern full-back also suits the technical demands of the Spanish game.
The SST Journey
Nijae was there from the very beginning.
He attended the 2025 SST Summer Showcase, the first showcase we ever held, and made a strong impression throughout the event. His performances established a relationship with SST that has continued to develop ever since.
In January, that relationship produced a trial. That trial has now produced a contract.
SST co-founder James Dawes spoke on what this signing means:
"It has been a journey with Nijae from our first-ever showcase to now signing with a professional affiliate team. What is most important for us in this first step in Spanish football is that he is in the right environment where they continue to focus on his development and he can go out and play a lot of games this year. We are sure that if he does that it will demonstrate the qualities needed to progress here in Spain."
Málaga Juniors B
Málaga Juniors are a new club competing at the first level of professional football in Spain, but what they have achieved in a short space of time speaks for itself. Already operating at Tercera RFEF level and continuing to grow, they are a club with a clear direction and the ambition to keep climbing.
An additional element that makes this placement particularly valuable for Nijae is that Sergio Matez, SST's Head of Player Placement and a UEFA Pro licensed coach, will be his manager at Málaga Juniors B. Having the person who placed him also coaching him on a day to day basis means Nijae will have continuity of support beyond the point of signing. Sergio understands his profile and has the experience and network to help him develop and progress within the Spanish system.
What This Signing Represents
Nijae's story is a good example of how SST works with players over the longer term. The showcase is where the relationship began. A trial followed. A contract followed that. The process is rarely immediate but the commitment from SST's side does not stop at the end of an event.
From the first showcase SST ever held to a signed contract at a professional level club. It is a positive outcome for Nijae and one we are proud to have played a part in.
