From Blackburn to Benidorm: Devarn Green Signs for CF Benidorm

A player with over 250 senior appearances in English professional football, arriving in Spain through the SST pathway and earning a contract at one of the most ambitious clubs on the Costa Blanca. A Career Built in English Football
Devarn Green is not a player who needed to prove his quality. He had already done that across a decade in the English game.
Developed through the academies of Burton Albion and Blackburn Rovers, Green went on to build a senior career spanning the Football League and National League, making over 250 appearances for clubs including Tranmere Rovers, Scunthorpe United, Southport and Oldham Athletic. A quick, direct attacker capable of playing on either wing or through the middle, he brought with him the kind of experience and versatility that is difficult to find at any level.
At 29, with that foundation behind him, Green made a decision. He wanted to test himself in a different environment. He wanted to try Spain.
The Showcase
Green attended the 2026 SST Summer Showcase across Málaga and Benidorm in July. Two weeks, daily training under UEFA-licensed coaches, and showcase matches played in front of clubs who had come specifically to assess the players on show.
His performances across the fortnight caught the attention of CF Benidorm. A professional contract followed. He was officially unveiled as a CF Benidorm player at the presentation of the club's new Décimas leisurewear range at the Servigroup Calypso Hotel, becoming the first British player in the club's history to sign for them.
The entire process, from first training session to signed contract, took three weeks.
